Medisoft
is a medical billing software suite that lets individual practitioners,
group practices, clinics and hospitals manage patient data, generate
reports and file medical claims electronically. The latest iterations of
McKesson Medisoft include a fully integrated EMR that meets the
requirements for physicians and practices to participate in the
Meaningful Use Incentives authorized in the 2009 American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act. The electronic patient records module allows doctors
and health practitioners to enter information and encounter notes in the
manner most comfortable to them, and integrates the diagnosis and
billing codes directly into the database where they can be accessed by
billing personnel and accounting, as well as being available for
diagnostic, prescription and other medical purposes. Entering patient
information into the Medisoft interface is quite easy, and all the
necessary settings are accessible from a single integrated dashboard,
which can be personalized for each member of the staff who needs access
to any portion of the electronic patient records. Here’s how to enter
patient information into Medisoft Clinical.
Entering New Information on Existing Patients in Medisoft Clinical
From
your dashboard, click the List menu, then select “Patients/Guarantors
and Cases”. Find the patient name and select it, then click the “Edit
Patient” button in the bottom-left corner of the window. Enter the new
patient information in the appropriate field s in the Medisoft template.
Click “Save” and you’re finished.
Adding New Patients to the Medisoft Clinical Database
From
your dashboard, click on the List menu and select “Patients/Guarantors
and Cases.” At the bottom of the windows, click on the “New Patient”
button. Enter the information for the new patient into the appropriate
database fields and click “Save.”
It’s
that simple to enter and edit information in Medisoft Clinical. The
electronic patient records software also makes it easy to accomplish
basic tasks related to check-in, patient encounter notes and
after-appointment. Among other things, you can check patient insurance
eligibility in real time from the dashboard. Once the patient’s
insurance information has been entered into the database, all it takes
is a simple click of a button to send an Internet request to the insurance company regarding eligibility and get a return response immediately.
Once
the patient has been escorted into the exam room, a nurse of PA can log
into her dashboard and record patient history, main complaint and vital
signs directly into the patient chart. The physician can enter progress
notes in a number of different formats, depending on the methods he or
she is most comfortable using. At the end of the visit, the front desk
can process payments, schedule tests and appointments and provide any
referrals needed, all using Medisoft EMR to track and record everything.
Medisoft
is available through certified resellers, many of whom offer training
and additional modules to help you get a head start with using the
award-winning software in your office.
