You’re using McKesson Medisoft Clinical EMR for your electronic
patient records and – horror of horrors – something goes wrong. Maybe
you’ve run across a situation you’ve never dealt with before. Maybe you
need help figuring out how to customize a specific Medisoft report.
Where do you turn for help? Since you’re using Medisoft,
one of the most-used electronic patient records and medical billing
software on the market, you’ve got a number of places you can look for
assistance.
Read the Manual
The Medisoft Manual is
pretty comprehensive and easy to understand. Your installation should
have come with a manual on CD or available on your Desktop.
Check the Help System
Medisoft
Clinical has its own complete Help system where you can find most of
the answers you need without looking any further. The help database is
searchable, making it even easier to find what you want to know. It
should be your first stop for simpler questions – though the robust help
system can handle even more complex problems just fine.
Check the Knowledge Base
The
online help system is called the Knowledge Base. It always has the
latest information about Medisoft and billing issues you might run into.
Check with Your Vendor
Your
vendor is the second point of contact when you need help with your
Medisoft installation. Medisoft is often sold through Value-Added
Resellers who packaged the software with a variety of other services and
solutions, including in-the-cloud hosting, product support and special
custom modules. Before turning anywhere else, check with your vendor to
see if they have a solution to your problem.
Ask the Community
One
of the biggest selling points of Medisoft is that it has an enormous
and very engaged user community. Many of the members of that community
have been working with Medisoft products for years and can offer insight
and solutions to just about any issue, problem or capability you’re
trying to use. Looking for a way to integrate two specific reports?
Chances are someone in the McKesson Medisoft community can offer a
suggestion. Whatever it is you need, there’s a very high possibility
that someone in the Medisoft community has already figured out how to do
it and will be happy to walk you through it.
For the most part, Medisoft Clinical
is surprisingly easy to navigate and use, but like any complicated
software package, you may run into problems. When that happens – or when
you’re trying to do something that isn’t covered in the manual – there
are many different places you can get help, including your original
Medisoft vendor.
